DOH Announces Webinar on 1115 Medicaid Waiver Amendment Request

The Department of Health (DOH) has announced plans to hold an informational webinar tomorrow, Wed., Dec. 11th, at 9 a.m. regarding the 1115 Medicaid waiver amendment request it submitted to the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) in November.

More information on the request, as well as registration for the webinar, is available in the DOH announcement below.

------

The New York State Department of Health submitted a formal 1115 Medicaid waiver amendment proposal on November 27, 2019 that establishes a framework for ongoing efforts to drive value. The request to the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) seeks both a one-year extension of the current waiver program and a subsequent three-year renewal to allow the State to build upon the transformation started in the current waiver and continue on the road to value-based care.

This request, which seeks both unused funding from the original waiver to continue supporting the current program and additional federal funding to support a new health care transformation framework, totaling $8 billion over a four-year period, reflects extensive public comment based on two public forums and more than 200 written comments. The state will continue seeking input on the renewal framework from CMS and the public through the one-year extension period.

The Department of Health is inviting the public to attend an informational webinar on Wednesday, December 11th 2019 at 9:00 a.m. regarding the waiver amendment proposal. Registration for Moving to Value-Based Care - New York’s Medicaid Section 1115 Waiver webinar is required and available at the following link: https://meetny.webex.com/meetny/onstage/g.php?MTID=ed9943a174d05341fb562055f44539fc1.
