DOH, NYC DOHMH Issue Advisory on Cyclosporiasis

(July 14, 2026) The Department of Health (DOH) and the NYC Department of Health and Mental Hygiene (DOHMH) have issued an advisory to all health care providers regarding a recent significant increase in cases of cyclosporiasis, an intestinal infection caused by the parasite Cyclospora.

The advisory, available here, provides information on the epidemiology, testing, diagnosis, treatment, reporting, and prevention of the infection.
