DataPoint: NYS LTC COVID-19 Vaccination Rates

Statewide, 84 percent of the skilled nursing facility (SNF) resident population has been vaccinated as of May 18, 2021, according to the Department of Health (DOH) COVID-19 Vaccine Tracker, which is based on daily Health Emergency Response Data System (HERDS) surveys. The highest regional resident population vaccination rate was found in the North Country, where 92 percent of residents have been vaccinated. The lowest regional vaccination rate (79 percent) was found in the New York City area. Statewide, the staff vaccination rate in SNFs was 60 percent. The staff vaccination rate in Clinton County was 92 percent, representing the highest statewide and the only county above 80 percent.

In adult care facilities (ACFs), 93 percent of the resident population has been vaccinated statewide. The resident vaccination rates in the Capital Region, Finger Lakes, North Country, and Southern Tier were all 97 percent. The resident population vaccination rate was at least 87 percent in every region statewide. Statewide, the staff vaccination rate in ACFs was 68 percent.
