DataPoint: Nursing Home Occupancy

The median nursing home occupancy rate in New York State remains at 94 percent based on the most recently collected nursing home bed census data. The occupancy rate for each home in the state is available here. The Rochester region saw the most significant decline in median occupancy over the first portion of 2017, dropping to 92 percent median occupancy. With a 2.2 percent decrease in census, the Rochester region was the only region in the state that changed more than 1 percent. All other regions in New York State remained consistent with 2016 reported census numbers.
