DataPoint: COVID-19 Vaccination in the United States

According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), nearly 77 million COVID-19 vaccination doses have been administered nationwide as of March 1st. Nearly one in five American adults over the age of 18 have received at least one dose of the COVID-19 vaccination. In long term care facilities, over 7 million COVID-19 vaccinations have been administered.

In New York State, nearly 4.3 million COVID-19 vaccinations have been administered, or 15.2 percent of the total population. To date, Queens County has administered the most vaccinations (311,000), while Hamilton County has the highest percentage of residents receiving at least one dose (43.5 percent). In New York State long term care facilities, over 388,000 vaccination doses have been administered. Statewide, 71 percent of the long term care resident population and 50 percent of the staff population have been vaccinated. Orleans and Clinton counties both have vaccinated 72 percent of long term care staff, representing the highest vaccination rate statewide.
