DataPoint: ACF Salaries

In 2016, median total staffing cost per resident day in Adult Care Facilities (ACFs) was $49.69 statewide and $63.47 among non-profit facilities, based on cost report data analyzed by LeadingAge NY. In the Capital Region, total staffing costs were $52.79 per resident day, which represented the highest statewide regional figure. In contrast, the lowest total staffing costs occurred in the Western New York region ($47.73). Salaries among aides and attendants varied significantly based on region, with the lowest cost per resident day occurring in the New York City metropolitan area ($13.35), which was nearly half the cost of the Capital Region ($27.66), the highest region. The median salary expense for non-profit aides and attendants was $28.47, which was 35 percent higher than the statewide median. Among dietary staff, median cost per resident day was $7.38 statewide, $10.49 in Enriched Housing Programs (EHPs), and $9.95 among non-profit facilities.
