Providers Receive MOU to Participate in State Vaccination Program

Late last week, the Department of Health (DOH) distributed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) to certain providers that have enrolled in New York State's COVID-19 vaccine administration program. The execution of the MOU is a prerequisite to participating as a vaccine provider in the State program. It is unrelated to the federal Pharmacy Partnership for Long-Term Care vaccination program currently under way in nursing homes and adult care facilities (ACFs).

Nursing homes and some ACFs may be interested in directly vaccinating new residents and staff on an ongoing basis once the federal Partnership program is complete. In order to do so, they must be authorized vaccine providers under the State’s vaccine program.

Appendix A to the MOU was inadvertently omitted from the document. It is available here. According to the Department's email to providers, the MOU must be returned no later than Wed., Jan. 6, 2021 at 12 p.m. The executed MOU should be returned via email here. In order for the Department to process the MOU, the signed MOU must be saved under name in the following format: Facility Name MOU.date of submittal (e.g., Acme Medical Practice MOU.12.30.2020).
