Important Provider Relief Training to Be Held Feb. 2nd

On Feb. 2, 2022 at 1 p.m., LeadingAge National will be joined by the Health Resources and Services Administration (HRSA) for a webinar titled Reporting on Nursing Home Infection Control (NHIC) Provider Relief Funds (PRF). The webinar is intended for nursing homes who received more than $10,000 in NHIC funding including Quality Incentive Program (QIP) payments through PRF from July 1, 2020 to Dec. 31, 2020. Registrants can expect guidance on specific infection control reporting nuances related to reporting during PRF Reporting Period 2, which must be completed by March 31, 2022. HRSA staff will explain which expenses are allowable and review additional resources to help nursing homes in reporting on these funds. NHIC and QIP funds may only be used on infection control expenses, so the reporting will be different than during Reporting Period 1. To register for the webinar, click here. There is a $99 fee for members and a $198 fee for non-members. In addition, continuing education credits are available.

PRF Reporting Period 2 for the General Distribution is also currently open. The PRF Reporting Portal opened on Jan. 1st, and providers have until March 31, 2022 to submit their reports. The deadline to use funds distributed during Reporting Period 2 was Dec. 31, 2021. Providers who received more than $10,000 in General and/or Targeted PRF payments from July 1, 2020 to Dec. 31, 2020 must complete their reports through the Reporting Portal. Reporting assistance is available for both new and returning reporters through the links below.

Additional Reporting Period 2 Resources:

Providers should begin preparing supporting documentation for Period 2 reporting. A detailed description of the PRF General and Targeted Distributions reporting requirements is available here

HRSA is continuing to send out both Phase 4 and American Rescue Plan (ARP) Rural payments and will continue to do so throughout the first quarter of 2022. Those who have received payments and those expecting payments should be aware that within 90 days of receiving a payment, ARP Rural and Phase 4 General Distribution recipients must sign an attestation confirming receipt of the funds and agreeing to the Terms and Conditions of payment by re-entering the PRF Application and Attestation Portal. Providers choosing to reject the funds must also complete the attestation and return the funds within 15 calendar days.
