Consistent with CDC recommendations, in counties with High Community Transmission Levels, masks are recommended for everyone in a health care setting where they might encounter patients or residents. In areas where Community Transmission Levels are not High, providers may choose not to require masks; however, masking is recommended for individuals with confirmed or suspected infections, who are exposed to COVID-19, who are residing or working in a unit experiencing an outbreak, or who are subject to a public health recommendation to mask.

The DAL maintains masking requirements in all DOH-regulated health care facilities for personnel and visitors age 2 and older, regardless of vaccination status. It also requires active screening at entry. It follows CDC guidance regarding work restrictions and does not require exclusion of asymptomatic personnel who are exposed to COVID-19.
