Reduce Risk and Provide Quality Care for People Living With Dementia

Relias will be offering a free webinar with partner, Teepa Snow, Living With Dementia During COVID-19 Pandemic.

 

Teepa will highlight different, person-centered working practices and routines to optimize the well-being of all involved, give the impossibility of following isolation guidelines without causing potentially irreparable harm to individuals and their relationships with those providing the only human contact they will be receiving in this situation.

Objectives for the Session:

  1. Determine whether people living with dementia will be able to adhere to social distancing expectations without experiencing significant losses in quality of life.
  2. Identify at least three physical positioning strategies that provide human connections and humane care while minimizing risks of transmission of COVID-19
  3. Recognize spacing and engagement options that provide visual and verbal support and interactions, while minimizing unanticipated physical contact of COVID-19 among participants and care providers.
  4. Use some simple guidelines to promote mobility, interactivity, well-being, and sustain existing abilities of each person living with dementia during this pandemic.
