New DOH Nursing Home Visitation Guidance Reduces COVID-19-Free Lookback to 14 Days

DOH guidance released on Sept. 15th allows nursing homes to welcome visitors if they have no new nursing home onset COVID-19 cases for 14 days, meet reporting requirements, submit a safety plan, have no staffing shortages as reported to the NHSN, have access to adequate testing, and meet other requirements. Visitors must present a negative test result within the last seven days and pass a symptom screening. The guidance is effective Sept. 17th.
