CMS has rescinded QSO 22-25-CLIA, issued on Sept. 26, 2022, which had limited the use of COVID-19 rapid antigen tests for testing asymptomatic individuals to the scope of the EUAs. As a result, providers with limited service lab registrations in New York State may continue to use any COVID-19 rapid antigen test with an EUA to test asymptomatic individuals.

NYC providers serving these populations can access resources to help access vaccination.

The waiver will allow temporary nurse aides who have not yet completed their certified nurse aide training and testing to continue to work as nurse aides until the end of the federal COVID-19 public health emergency. LeadingAge NY has asked DOH to clarify the scope of the waiver.
