New York State has extended the deadline for reporting COVID-19 and flu POC test results from 3 hours to 24 hours. The federal government will provide webinars on Nov. 12^th and Nov. 13^th on NHSN reporting of nursing home POC test results.

The issue brief is intended to help nursing homes, adult care/assisted living facilities, and senior housing to identify the relevant regulations and guidance applicable to off-site social visits during the COVID-19 pandemic and the steps that organizations may choose to take to mitigate the infection risks of off-site visits, while honoring resident rights to access the community.

New York City has established a surge staffing GPO and is encouraging nursing homes, ACFs, and home care agencies delivering services to city residents to enter into GPO contracts now, in order to prepare for future shortages.

Nursing homes are asked to review their 2021 capital component and either agree with the calculation or request corrections by Nov. 13^th.

DOH shares that a preliminary decision suggests COVID-19 funding is not subject to the cash receipts assessment and indicates that it intends to combine roster verification for July 2020 and January 2021 rates into a single process.
