Home Care Worker Wage Parity compliance certification due March 1

DOH posted notice on the revised forms to use for the annual certification of compliance with the Home Care Worker Wage Parity law.  There are separate forms: Managed Care Organizations (MCOs), Certified Home Health Agencies (CHHAs), Long Term Home Health Care Program (LTHHCP) and Licensed Home Care Service Agency (LHCSA).  All of the forms except for the LHCSA must be submitted to DOH by email at: HCWorkerParity@health.state.ny.us by the March 1 deadline. The LHCSA forms must be submitted to the entity that they contract with, such as a MCO, CHHA or LTHHCP, or all three.

In addition, please refer to last year’s Dear Administrator Letters (DALs) that were posted to MCOs, CHHAs, and LTHHCPs outlining the second year rates of total compensation for home care workers in the NYC area. These rates are effective March 1, 2013 – Feb. 28, 2014.  The minimum home care compensation rate is $9.50 hourly, with a supplemental benefit rate of $1.43 per hour.

The other DAL was issued for MCOs, CHHAs and LTHHCPs outlining the rates of total compensation for home care workers in Westchester, Nassau and Suffolk counties. For the period of March 1, 2013 – Feb. 28, 2014, the minimum home care aide total compensation rate is $9.00 hourly, with a supplemental benefit rate of $1.35 per hour.
