DOH to Host Webinar on Staffing Requirement Compliance Monitoring Process on Nov. 15th

On Nov. 14th, the Department of Health (DOH) notified nursing home providers that the Department has scheduled a webinar on the process used to request redeterminations and penalty reductions related to the State’s monitoring of compliance with nursing home staffing requirements. The intent of the webinar is to allow providers to better understand the compliance assessment process, to hear about efficiencies under development by the Department, and to be advised of best practices for submitting Redetermination and Penalty Reduction documentation. Along with the presentation, DOH will dedicate time during the webinar to address any additional questions and comments received.

The webinar is scheduled for tomorrow, Wed., Nov. 15th, from 10-11:30 a.m. Registration is required and available here.

While DOH encourages participation, those unable to attend will be able to access an archived recording of the webinar on the Health Commerce System (HCS) as well as on the DOH public website. The Dear Administrator Letter (DAL) announcing the webinar is available here.

LeadingAge NY has been sharing member concerns, and we have had a number of discussions with DOH staff in which we have suggested ways that the State could improve their approach to required documentation. We hope that the Nov. 15th presentation will unveil a shift toward a less burdensome process.
