First of Two Lower Hudson Valley HEPC IOC Drills to Be Held Nov. 16th

Lower Hudson Valley nursing home and adult care facility (ACF)/assisted living (AL) members should note that the first of two Lower Hudson Valley Health Emergency Preparedness Coalition (HEPC) Interoperability Communications (IOC) exercises will be held on Nov. 16th, to test redundant communications plans and systems.

According to the Department of Health (DOH), an Integrated Health Alerting and Notification System (IHANS) notification will be issued to providers via email, cell phone call, and text directing them to a Health Electronic Response Data System (HERDS) survey. The name of the survey and time of completion will be included in the notification.

Providers interested in participating should be sure to assign at least one person within their facility who can respond to the notification and complete the survey on the day of the exercise. Those who are not interested or have a conflict should note that there will be a second IOC exercise, as well as additional opportunities to participate in future exercises.
