DOH Reminds Providers of Emergency Preparedness Requirements

With hurricane season upon us, the Department of Health (DOH) has issued a reminder to providers regarding requirements for emergency preparedness. Facilities are reminded that they:

  • must review their current disaster plans and update as needed;
  • must make sure that their 24/7 contact information is updated in the Health Commerce System (HCS) Communications Directory;
  • should consider checking their backup generators, as well as their emergency water supply;
  • must keep their Evacuation of Facilities in Disasters Systems (eFINDS) kit in an easily accessible area, and make sure that staff know what to do on weekends/holidays.

There are also several webinars archived on the DOH website on emergency responses and readiness.
