DOH to Host Resident Assault and Abuse Panel Discussion Webinar
(Dec. 1, 2025) The Department of Health (DOH) Division of Residential Surveillance invites nursing homes to an important panel discussion on Resident Assault and Abuse on Fri., Dec. 12, 2025 from 11:30 a.m.-1 p.m. This interactive session will provide valuable insights and practical strategies for safeguarding residents and supporting trauma-informed care.
By participating, attendees will learn to:
- Explain the background and perspectives on resident assault
- Identify factors that may lead to aggressive behavior
- Contribute to creating a trauma-informed practice
- Understand facility and staff responsibilities to protect residents
- Develop strategies to prevent victimization
- Recognize services available for sexual assault victims
