Staff: The Secret Ingredient?

The importance of staffing to the health and safety of nursing home (NH) residents is far from secret. The Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) has made that clear as recently as in its April 2019 blog post "Ensuring Safety and Quality in America’s Nursing Homes," which details its five-point plan. As part of the plan, CMS invested Civil Money Penalty (CMP) dollars in initiatives to aid NHs in improving their quality of care. One of these initiatives is the Civil Money Penalty Reinvestment Program (CMPRP), which provides resources to NHs that can be used to assess and improve staff competency and satisfaction. These resources are in the form of toolkits, which can be downloaded for free here.
