Now Available: LeadingAge National QuickCast for Members to Help Residents Navigate Open Enrollment

Open Enrollment for Medicare beneficiaries is happening now through Dec. 7th, giving many LeadingAge member residents and clients the opportunity to decide how they want to receive their Medicare benefits in the coming year – either through traditional fee-for-service Medicare, or through a Medicare Advantage (MA) or Special Needs Plan (SNP).

Many older adults enroll in MA or SNP plans, but may not understand what that means for accessing post-acute care later. To help provider members support residents, clients, and their families across all care settings during the Open Enrollment period, LeadingAge National has released a new member-only resource to review what they can – and cannot – do to educate older adults on their options.

The 18-minute QuickCast, titled The Importance of Medicare Open Enrollment, is free for LeadingAge members and features Nicole Fallon, vice president of health policy and integrated services and director of the Center for Managed Care Solutions and Innovations for LeadingAge National.
