DOH is looking to convene a small group of social workers from nursing homes around the state for an approximately one-hour call to gain a greater understanding of the role of the social worker and their responsibilities in the nursing home.

The Sepsis Prevention Assessment Tool for Nursing Homes was developed with feedback from LeadingAge member nursing homes and helps identify gaps in sepsis policies, training, and practices.

The March 9^th session will provide an in‑depth look at the evolving responsibilities and regulatory expectations shaping social work practice across long‑term care settings.

The CDC will host a webinar on Jan. 27^th that will “provide the latest information on how to prevent and respond to respiratory infections and outbreaks in LTC facilities, including how to recognize a sick resident, considerations for testing, treatment, and vaccination, and infection prevention and control measures.” The agency also continues to update resources on respiratory infections that will be helpful for nursing homes and other providers in addressing flu, COVID, and RSV outbreaks this winter.
