Distribution of eFMAP Funding to PACE Programs Detailed

The Department of Health (DOH) detailed its plans for distributing $40 million in enhanced federal Medicaid matching funds (eFMAP) to Programs of All-Inclusive Care for the Elderly (PACE) in a meeting last week. The funds will be distributed to nine PACE organizations, with $20 million divided evenly among the organizations and $20 million distributed proportionally based on the number of PACE centers each operates. All funds must be spent by March 31, 2024.

The funds are to be used for investments in workforce, site reopening and infrastructure, and program growth. Funds cannot be used for compensation or benefits for administrative staff, managers, or executives, nor can they be used for current wage levels for any employees. Spending on current or currently planned expenses is also prohibited.

PACE programs must submit attestations in support of the funding by March 17, 2023. Funds will be issued to organizations in May 2023.

More information is available in the slides presented at the meeting here.
