CMS Issues FIDA Model Materials
On July 6th, the Medicare-Medicaid Coordination Office of the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) issued final model materials for New York State’s Fully Integrated Duals Advantage (FIDA) plans for Contract Year (CY) 2019. Plans should have received an email that contained the CMS letter along with a series of documents. There are a number of changes regarding the timing and format of required beneficiary communications materials that will be incorporated into the CY 2019 Medicare Communications and Marketing Guidelines (MCMG) and in the New York FIDA MMP marketing guidance document.
The send included model notices, forms, handbooks, and directories developed jointly by CMS and New York that FIDA plans are required to use for CY 2019. These and additional materials will also be posted on the CMS website here. CMS notes that a June 6, 2018 letter (available here) outlines the changes, many of which were precipitated by the Medicare Advantage Final Rule issued by CMS in April 2018.
