USDA’s Rural Development MFH Team Announces Next Quarterly Call

U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) Rural Development Multifamily Housing (MFH) Field Operations staff have announced that the team’s next quarterly call to provide updates to stakeholders will take place on Thurs., July 14th at 3 p.m. ET.

During this meeting, USDA staff are expected to discuss their partnership with the Federal Communications Commission (FCC) in marketing the Affordable Connectivity Program (ACP). The ACP helps individuals pay their monthly internet bill by offering an internet service discount of up to $30 to qualifying households. Because the ACP could benefit many MFH residents, Rural Development is encouraging housing providers to post this ACP Fact Sheet in a public place at each property.

It was also announced on May 9th that the White House has negotiated broadband packages of $30 a month or less, which, after the ACP’s $30 discount, would make these services free for participants.
