LeadingAge New York on Medicaid Redesign Supportive Housing Workgroup
We are pleased to report that LeadingAge New York has been appointed to the Medicaid
Redesign Team (MRT) Supportive Housing Workgroup, along with Laura Jervis, Executive
Director of West Side Federation for Senior and Supportive Housing, Inc. Laura is also a member
of the LeadingAge New York Adult Care Facility/Assisted Living Cabinet. We join members
Deborah Damm O'Brien, executive director, DePaul Management Services and Steve Volza,
senior vice president for housing, Loretto, who were previously appointed. The next meeting of
the group is on Nov. 19 in New York City, and will now be co-chaired by Jason Helgerson,
Medicaid director, Office of Health Insurance Programs, Department of Health, and Michael
Skrebutenas, interim chief operating officer, Homes & Community Renewal (HCR).
We are very excited to expand our representation on this group to help further efforts to invest
in housing options for seniors, continue assisted living program reform and create a clearer line
between housing with services and licensed adult care facility/assisted living services. If you
have questions about the group or issues you would like us to bring forth, contact Diane
Darbyshire or Ken Harris.
