In anticipation of this past weekend’s storm, HUD sent a message to stakeholders requesting damage self-reporting from all housing communities participating in its MFH programs and ongoing reporting of any vacant units to assist with rehousing of displaced residents.
The letter urges the creation of a State-funded program that would allow more affordable independent senior housing properties to offer on-site, on-request Resident Assistance to help low-income older adults age safely in their home while keeping high-cost health care and long-term care spending in check.
The call, open to LeadingAge members in the HUD Northeast Region, will feature updates from the regional leadership team on staffing and workflows, HOTMA, inspection protocols, and more.

The new compliance date allows the agency to complete implementation tools for HOTMA compliance, including new housing forms and new rent software used by federally assisted housing communities.
