Update: UAS-NY

eMedNY released guidance on Wed., Dec. 4 regarding the Nursing Home Transition and Diversion (NHTD) and Traumatic Brain Injury (TBI) waiver programs requirement concerning the transition to UAS-NY. All organizations that conduct assessments through either of these waiver programs must be represented in the HCS. Typically, the waiver providers would be represented under the following organizational types:

  • County DSS;
  • Home Health Agencies;
  • LHCSA;
  • Personal Care; and
  • Regional Resource Development Centers.

The guidance from eMedNY explains that providers from the above list will be able to follow the procedures presented in the UAS-NY Transition Guide to provide staff with access to the UAS-NY. It further clarifies if you are not within the above categories, such as a Service Coordinator provider, you can access the UAS-NY system by entering under a new organization type - Waiver Services Management. If you fall under this new organizational type, you must email specific information to UAS-NY Project Team at uasny@health.state.ny.us.

If you have additional questions about implemeting UAS-NY, please call the UAS-NY support desk at 518-408-1021 (option 2). If you have specific questions about implementing UAS-NY with either the NHTD or the TBI waiver, please contact the respective waiver program staff at 518-474-5271.
