June 1 – Home Care Worker Wage Parity Forms Due

It is that time again to submit the Home Care Worker Wage Parity certification forms. The forms are due before June 1, 2013. DOH had previously posted both to the HCS and the Supplemental Information on specific MRT proposals notice on the revised forms for Managed Care Organizations (MCOs), Certified Home Health Agencies (CHHAs), Long Term Home Health Care Program (LTHHCP) and Licensed Home Care Service Agency (LHCSA) to use for the annual certification of compliance with the Home Care Worker Wage Parity law. All of the forms except for the LHCSA must be submitted to DOH by the June 1 deadline. Email the forms to HCWorkerParity@health.state.ny.us.

The LHCSA forms are submitted to the entity that they have a contract with that could be a MCO, CHHA or LTHHCP, or all three.

Please note that before you email or send any of the annual certification of compliance forms, change the date to reflect the current compliance period of June 1, 2013 – Aug. 1, 2013.

As a reminder, please refer to last year’s Dear Administrator Letters (DALs) that were posted to MCOs, CHHAs and LTHHCPs, outlining the second year rates of total compensation for home care workers in the NYC area. The second year rates are effective March 1, 2013 – Feb. 28, 2014. The minimum home care compensation rate is $9.50 hourly, with a supplemental benefit rate of $1.43 per hour.

The other DAL was issued for MCOs, CHHAs and LTHHCPs, outlining the rates of total compensation for home care workers in Westchester, Nassau and Suffolk counties. For the period of March 1, 2013 - Feb. 28, 2014, the minimum home care aide total compensation rate is $9.00 hourly, with a supplemental benefit rate of $1.35 per hour.
