OMIG Issues Final Audit Protocols for Private Duty Nursing by LHCSAs

The New York State Office of the Medicaid Inspector General (OMIG) has released its revised audit protocols for Licensed Home Care Services Agencies (LHCSAs) providing Private Duty Nursing. They are posted here on the OMIG website. The final version of the protocols mirrors the draft issued back in March. Changes include two new protocols: “Incorrect Procedure Code Billed” and “Excluded Individual Providing Service.” The “Professional Assessment Not Documented” protocol has been eliminated, and there is new language for the “Tuberculosis Test” protocol.
