Home Care Minimum Wage Increases on Dec. 31st

Home care providers who serve counties outside of New York City (NYC), Long Island, and Westchester should note that the minimum wage for home care aides increases on Dec. 31, 2022 from $15.20 to $16.20 per hour.

The minimum wage for home care aides in NYC, Long Island, and Westchester remains at $17 per hour. However, under the state Wage Parity law, home care aides in NYC must also receive $1.69 in additional wages and $2.40 in supplemental wages for a total of $21.09 in total compensation; aides in Long Island and Westchester must also receive $3.22 in supplemental wages for a total of $20.22 in total compensation.
