Deadline Approaching for 2017 LHCSA Statistical Report

Recent amendments to state law require all Licensed Home Care Services Agencies (LHCSAs) to register with the Department of Health (DOH) annually. As such, all LHCSAs, including those affiliated with an Assisted Living Program (ALP), are required to be registered with the Department. This registration requirement is contained within the LHCSA Statistical Report, which is due next week, on Fri., Nov. 16th.

To register, LHCSAs (including ALP LHCSAs) must submit the 2017 LHCSA Statistical Report, including form LSR10 Registration Form. Please note that an ALP LHCSA serving patients in the community must also fill out and submit all sections of the 2017 LHCSA Statistical Report. However, an ALP LHCSA that does not serve patients in the community must only complete and submit designated portions of the 2017 LHCSA Statistical Report. The registration status of each LHCSA will be publicly posted on the DOH website.

LHCSAs that have not yet completed this report must take immediate action to do so. Please note that this report is in a new format and will require extra time and attention. Failure to complete and submit the report accurately may result in significant financial penalties for your organization. You can find the report on the Healthcare Financial Data Gateway on the Health Commerce System (HCS).

For background on this issue, please review the Dear Administrator Letter (DAL) and LeadingAge NY Intelligence article here. For questions on completing the report, please see DOH’s Frequently Asked Questions or contact DOH staff at hcstatrpts@health.ny.gov.
