Update on the Community First Choice Option
DOH held its third Community First Choice Option (CFCO) Advisory group meeting on Mon., Aug. 20. LeadingAge New York and other stakeholders were present. The meeting focused on program design and decision points, such as:
- Who is eligible for CFCO;
- What services should be included;
- How will housing be handled;
- What delivery model should be considered; and
- How do the CFCO and managed care work together?
One major issue that remains outstanding with the CFCO and all Home and Community-based Services (HCBS) 1915 (c) waivers is the definition of “settings.”
We will continue to keep members posted as the development of the State Plan Amendment (SPA) for the CFCO advances.
