CMS Approves NHTD/TBI Appendix K Amendment

The Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) approved the Appendix K amendment to the Traumatic Brain Injury (TBI) and Nursing Home Transition and Diversion (NHTD) Waiver Programs on Oct. 24, 2022.

The most recent Appendix K amendment provides for the implementation of a Home Care Worker Minimum Wage rate increase beginning Oct. 1, 2022. This wage adjustment includes a rate increase of $2.56 per hour for all regions throughout the state for the TBI and NHTD Waiver service of Home and Community Support Services (HCSS).

The rate increases are uploaded and active on provider Medicaid Management Information System (MMIS) Provider IDs in cycle 2359, check date of Nov. 7, 2022, with a release date of retro payments in the Electronic Funds Transfers (EFTs) to be sent on Nov. 23, 2022.
