Funding Available for CBO Engagement in DSRIP and Value-Based Payment

The Department of Health (DOH) Office of Health Insurance Programs is reissuing a Request for Applications (RFA) to support strategic planning activities for Community Based Organizations (CBOs) to facilitate their engagement in Delivery System Reform Incentive Payment (DSRIP) and value-based payment (VBP) activities in the Rest of State Region. This RFA is designed to provide funding to one CBO consortium comprised of non-Medicaid billing CBOs, with an operating budget of less than $5 million, that address the social determinants of health.

DOH is pushing for more CBO involvement in collaborative health care payment models, and it recognizes that addressing social determinants of health such as housing, nutrition, education, safety, transportation, and job security improves overall health and results in significant cost savings in the long term.

This funding will help CBOs develop strategic short- and long-term planning and maximize their involvement in these collaborative arrangements. We encourage appropriate LeadingAge NY members to apply or encourage their community partners to seek the funding. See DOH's announcement on the RFA here. Questions must be submitted to OHIPContracts@health.ny.gov by March 22nd. The due date for applications is May 4, 2018.
