Update on CHHA and Hospice Minimum Wage Medicaid Rate Adjustment

The Department of Health (DOH) has issued Dear Administrator Letters to both Certified Home Health Agencies (CHHAs) and Hospice Programs regarding the calculation of revised Medicaid CHHA and Hospice rates based on the minimum wage survey data received from the provider community. The revised rates have been submitted to the Division of the Budget (DOB) for approval, and we hope to see the rate adjustments posted in February. CHHA members can view their Dear Administrator Letter here, and Hospice Programs can view theirs here. Providers cannot use any of these additional funds for purposes other than the statutory wage obligations directly associated with the minimum wage increase, and unspent funds shall be returned to the State. The Office of the Medicaid Inspector General (OMIG) will also release supplemental cost reports and will conduct audits of all providers' payments. We encourage you to read the DALs closely.
