Home Health Quality Metrics Now Includes the New CMS Home Health Star Rating Measure

CMS recently released the first round of Quality of Patient Care star ratings on Home Health Compare, CMS's public information website for Home Health Agencies (HHAs).  Each HHA will receive a single summary star rating, ranging from 1 star (lowest rating) to 5 stars (highest rating) that encompasses that agency's relative performance on 9 of the 29 quality measures already posted on Home Health Compare. Nationally, 46% of HHAs received either a 3 or 3.5 star rating while 28% received 2.5 stars or lower and 26% received 4 stars or higher.  In New York, 54% of HHAs received a 3 or 3.5 star rating while 30% received 2.5 stars or lower and 16% received 4 stars or higher.
