Demand Billing Underway for Home Health Agencies

Demand Bill Directives have been sent to all Certified Home Health Agencies (CHHAs) selected to submit claims to Medicare for the first half of the Federal Fiscal Year (FFY) 2022 Home Health Medicare Maximization Services Initiative. The Episodic Payment System (EPS) claims selected for this initiative fall between Sept. 30, 2021 and March 31, 2022, or until the end of the episodic period billed to Medicaid.

Letters were sent to providers on Sept. 7^th; a sample is available here. This process is to ensure that providers seek reimbursement from Medicare and all other third parties before submitting a claim to Medicaid (Section 540.6(e)(1) of Title 18 NYCRR).
