CMS to Host Quality of Patient Care Star Ratings Algorithm Call for Home Health Agencies on June 27th

The Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) will host a Quality of Patient Care Star Ratings Algorithm Call for home health agencies on Wed., June 27th from 2 to 3 p.m. Home health agencies will learn about proposed modifications to the way CMS calculates Home Health Quality of Patient Care Star Ratings, including removal of the measure “Drug Education on All Medications Provided to Patient/Caregiver during All Episodes of Care” and the addition of the measure “Improvement in Oral Medications.”

IMPACT Act: CMS Call to Discuss Frequently Asked Questions on June 21st

Learn more about the Improving Medicare Post-Acute Care Transformation Act of 2014 (IMPACT Act) in this call scheduled for Thurs., June 21st from 2 to 3 p.m. CMS will answer frequently asked questions on quality measures, standardized data elements, the CMS data element library, and future directions of the IMPACT Act. A question and answer session will follow the presentation. This presentation is for post-acute care providers, including skilled nursing facilities, home health agencies, inpatient rehabilitation facilities, and long term care hospitals; researchers; administrators; and other industry stakeholders and interested parties. Three-Part Webinar Series: Person Centered Planning: From Dreams to Reality

“Applying Person Centered Planning and Thinking Principles in the Delivery of Supports & Services for Persons Living with a Traumatic Brain Injury,” the last webinar in the three-part series sponsored by the National Association of State Head Injury Administrators (NASHIA), will be held on Thurs., June 7th from 12 to 1 p.m. The first webinar was held on Thurs., May 17th and served as an introduction to the general concepts of person centered thinking. The second webinar took place on Thurs., May 31st and focused on moving from thinking to planning and the details of documentation.

This webinar will focus on specific strategies for adapting person centered thinking and planning techniques for use in the traumatic brain injury population. It will discuss the unique person centered thinking and planning needs of those who have experienced brain injuries. The webinar will also address the importance of allowing this population to express their autonomy and maintain independence.

Registration for the webinar is free, but you may choose to purchase Certificates of Attendance.
