Healthcare Personnel Vaccination Report Available Nov. 1st

The Department of Health (DOH) posted a Dear Administrator Letter (DAL) informing providers that the Healthcare Personnel Vaccination Report will be open on Tues., Nov. 1st. The report will remain open until May 1, 2017. Please note that the attachments to the DAL include instructions for completing the report and 40 Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs).

As stated in the DAL, “All facilities covered under New York Codes, Rules and Regulations, Title 10, Section 2.59 (10 NYCRR Section 2.59) are required to document the number and percentage of personnel vaccinated against influenza for the current season and to complete this report upon request of the Department.” Pursuant to Section 2.59, facilities include nursing homes, certified home health agencies (CHHAs), long term home health care programs, acquired immune deficiency syndrome (AIDS) home care programs, licensed home care service agencies, limited licensed home care service agencies (LHCSAs), and hospices. While the requirement does not apply to adult care facilities, assisted living programs must complete the report for their home care employees, because the requirement applies to LHCSAs and CHHAs.

According to the DAL, an updated pre-recorded webinar training session for the Healthcare Personnel Influenza Vaccination Report will be available online at www.health.ny.gov/FluMaskReg under the heading "Training." DOH suggests that the person completing the report view the pre-recorded webinar and review all instructions and Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs) available at the above website before completing the report.

The DAL includes numerous phone numbers and email addresses for submitting your questions.
