Funding Opportunity – Expand NY Connects

Last week, the New York State Office for the Aging (NYSOFA) released a Request for Applications (RFA) that would expand and enhance NY Connects. This is another funding opportunity for not-for-profit community based organizations (CBOs).

The purpose of the RFA is to align with the federal direction and increase access to long term services and supports (LTSS) for all populations in New York State. NYSOFA will select and contract with up to six Independent Living Centers (ILCs) and/or not-for-profit Community Based Organizations (CBOs) to work in partnership with each Area Agency on Aging, Local Department of Social Services (LDSS), and any of their subcontractors to deliver NY Connects functions within a specified region. The regions are outlined on page 29 and include Western NY, Central NY, Northeast, Hudson Valley, Metropolitan New York, and Long Island. Please note the funding amount per region on page 22.

Please note the criteria for eligible applicants on page 5, the application format/content and possible scoring on pages 18-21, and the prescribed work plan on pages 23-28.

The RFA has a tight timeframe.
