CMS is Asking for Input on HCBS Delivery

Last week, the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) issued a request seeking information (RFI) on reforms and policy options that can be considered to accelerate the provision of home and community-based services (HCBS) to Medicaid beneficiaries.

CMS is requesting input on how best to ensure high-quality services that promote the health and well-being of participants, taking into account issues affecting participant choice and control, program integrity, rate setting, quality infrastructure, and the homecare workforce. In several sections of the RFI, CMS is asking for specific steps to strengthen the HCBS homecare workforce and provide stability.

This is another opportunity for us to suggest policy or regulatory changes to improve HCBS to Medicaid beneficiaries. Comments are due by Jan. 9, 2017.
