LeadingAge NY Advocacy on ALP Residents Accessing Hospice Care

In 2002, the State issued an administrative directive which essentially states that Medicaid-eligible residents of Assisted Living Programs (ALPs) cannot be enrolled in Hospice services at the same time.  LeadingAge NY, along with the Empire State Association of Assisted Living, Hospice and Palliative Care Association of NYS, and the New York State Center for Assisted Living, issued a letter to the Department of Health asking them to revisit this policy and work with us to find solutions. Click here to view the letter. We will keep members apprised of any developments with this issue, and will continue to work with our colleagues to find a better resolution to this longstanding, complex issue.
