Update on EQUAL Funding Documentation

LeadingAge NY recently notified our adult care facility (ACF) members who received Enhancing the Quality of Adult Living (EQUAL) Program funds that they should have submitted a completed Section J: Expense Schedule for EQUAL Program Funds 2019-2020 and attached all expenditure receipts totaling to the amount of the funding received by Nov. 1, 2020. Since that time, the Department of Health (DOH) has determined that if a facility feels the deadline poses an undue hardship, they can submit an email to equal@health.ny.gov with a proposed submission date of no later than Dec. 31, 2020. We had been advocating for more flexibility, knowing that members have had to change their expenditure plans or otherwise had difficulty implementing EQUAL projects due to COVID-19, and we are pleased that the Department is willing to offer some flexibility. As a reminder, receipts must be in PDF format and emailed along with the completed Section I: EQUAL Program Certification Page to equal@health.ny.gov, and all expenditures must be consistent with the approved expenditure plan.
