ACFs That Applied for EQUAL Should Be Receiving Award Letters

The Department of Health (DOH) shared with LeadingAge NY that letters are going out to adult care facilities (ACFs) this week regarding Enhancing the Quality of Adult Living (EQUAL) Program awards. As a reminder, EQUAL is a funding program available to ACFs that serve residents who receive Supplemental Security Income (SSI), State Supplement Program (SSP), Medicaid, and/or safety net benefits. For background on the EQUAL program, click here.

Members who submitted EQUAL applications should be looking for a letter, which should outline the amount of the award. ACFs will then have to develop spending plans, with resident input and approval, and submit to DOH by Oct. 6th.

Members are also reminded that last year's EQUAL awards must be spent by mid-October, within a year of receipt of the funds.
