DOH Provides Updated ACF Legal Services and Community Resources Guide for Residents

The Department of Health (DOH) has updated the Adult Care Facility (ACF) Legal Services Agencies and Community Resources Providing Resident Advocacy Services Guide and posted it on the Health Commerce System (HCS). The revised guide is available here. The Department has also issued a Dear Administrator Letter (DAL), which can be accessed here.

The DAL reminds ACF providers that regulations require that “in addition to the prescribed termination notice, the operator shall furnish to the resident a list of agencies, including the Long Term Care Ombudsman Program, providing free legal services and agencies engaged in resident advocacy services within the geographic vicinity of the facility. Such lists must be provided or approved by the Department and shall include names, addresses and telephone numbers.” Members are encouraged to review the DAL and make use of the new guide as outlined in regulation.
