Congratulations, IGNITE Leadership Class of 2017-18!

LeadingAge NY is proud to announce the graduation of the 2017-18 IGNITE Leadership Academy class. During a graduation ceremony at the LeadingAge NY Annual Conference and Exposition in Saratoga Springs, 24 rising stars in the aging and long term care services field were recognized for their accomplishments and completion after a year of personal leadership development. LeadingAge NY Board Chairman and Fort Hudson CEO Andrew Cruikshank commended the class for their commitment to the field.

The IGNITE Leadership Academy is a year-long, transformational leadership program that provides participants with the tools they will need to be outstanding leaders in their organizations. It differs from an MBA-type program in that its focus is on teaching participants how their own thinking and values are key components to developing their own qualities of leadership. In addition, they acquire the tools to help them work with teams, build successful teams, and collaborate.

The IGNITE Leadership Academy was established in 2013 through the dedication of a number of LeadingAge NY members who had attended the national LeadingAge Leadership Academy. They felt strongly that this valuable program was needed to inspire, nurture, and empower leaders from New York’s non-profit sector as they continuously strive to improve the exemplary care, services, and housing provided to New York’s growing aging population.
