DOH Provides Details Regarding Voucher Demonstration for SNALR Residents

The Department of Health (DOH) offered a brief presentation on a new voucher demonstration program for people with Alzheimer's disease and/or dementia who are living in a Special Needs Assisted Living Residence (SNALR). This demonstration program offers an opportunity for residents who may have spent their resources and are likely to run out of funds in the near future to receive some assistance to remain in the SNALR.

SNALR operators can choose to participate in the program; it is not mandatory. LeadingAge NY has been working with the Alzheimer’s Association and other stakeholders on this concept and hopes that it offers an opportunity for members and the people they serve.
