Member Input Sought on Development of Assisted Living Program Need Methodology

The Department of Health (DOH) is seeking input from the public as they establish a need methodology for future new assisted living program (ALP) beds. The ALP is the only Medicaid-funded assisted living option in the state, and the number of beds statewide has been limited. Only over the last few years have we seen opportunities to expand the ALP program, and that has been through periodic competitive processes. The State has issued a Request for Information (RFI) to obtain information for the development of a need-based application process moving forward. LeadingAge NY is seeking member input for the association’s response to the RFI and is holding a member call on April 18th for that purpose. Any member is welcome to participate. The public may also submit comments in response to the RFI as well. Click here for more information regarding the upcoming member call. If you are unable to participate but want to provide us feedback, let us know.
