This bill would include certified nursing assistants in provisions of law relating to restrictions on consecutive hours of work, putting vulnerable populations at risk. LeadingAge NY opposes this legislation.

This bill would allow individuals with traumatic brain injuries (TBI) or who qualify for nursing home diversion and transition (NHTD) Medicaid waiver services to continue to receive such services outside of managed care programs. LeadingAge NY supports this legislation.

This bill would establish a dedicated Affordable Independent Senior Housing Assistance Program to bolster the State's recent investments in senior housing capital projects. Resident assistance provided under this program would include an array of optional services that promote independent living, allowing seniors to remain in the most integrated setting appropriate to their needs and preferences and keeping them out of more costly levels of care. LeadingAge NY supports this legislation.

LeadingAge New York strongly supports this legislation, which would create an additional source of funding to address the pervasive health disparities that are found throughout the rural regions of New York State.  

LeadingAge New York opposes this legislation which would expand penalties for violations of section 167 of the Labor Law prohibiting hospitals, nursing homes, and other facilities from requiring nurses to work more than their regularly scheduled hours, except under limited circumstances. 

LeadingAge New York supports the Home Care First Act which provides in statute a proactive policy, reimbursement and operational approach to support the availability and utilization of home care services in the State. 

LeadingAge New York supports the passage of this bill, which would establish an Office of Hospice and Palliative Care Access and Quality within the Department of Health. 

LeadingAge New York opposes this legislation which would require every high-rise property owner in the State to develop an emergency evacuation plan for residents with disabilities. The bill interferes with the ability of high-rise property owners and local law enforcement and fire safety personnel to continue to create and safely implement individualized evacuation plans for senior housing communities
