Nursing Home Advocates - Urge Governor to Reform and Rationalize Medicaid Reimbursement!

New York State must keep its promise to nursing home residents, and update Medicaid rates to cover the cost of care!

WE NEED YOU TO TAKE ACTION AND WRITE THE GOVERNOR TODAY!

LeadingAge NY has created the below digital letter-writing campaigns, written from the perspective of different nursing home stakeholders. Please take a moment to send a letter to the Governor TODAY!

THE PROBLEM
  • On average, New York State’s Nursing Home Medicaid rates cover only 75% of the cost of care.
  • There is an $810 million (State-share) Medicaid funding gap for the nursing home care provided in New York.
  • New York’s nursing home Medicaid reimbursement is among the worst in the country, according to a Federal, independent MACPAC report.
  • Inadequate Medicaid Reimbursement significantly hinders provider ability to compete for, hire and retain staff.
THE SOLUTION
  • New York State must reform and rationalize nursing home reimbursement, with a downpayment of $510 million State-share in State Fiscal Year 2024-25 and a commitment to fully fund, reform and rebase rates by 2025.

Thank you for your advocacy on this critical issue!
